"Statistically, no body has EVER died in jail" - Venkman "How's it like to have ass in your mouth" - Frank
Frank decided to bless us with his presence this week. We were elated. Really we were.....really. This week Gnirk's good buddy, Elliot Threat was honored at a Royals game by being able to sit in the Buck O'Neil seat. Elliot was nominated by Aaron Gnirk, although he doesn't remember nominating anyone. The Royals had to suspend the 'Buck O'Neal' seat for a couple of days afterwords due to miscellaneous stains and damages that had to be taken care of. Frank is currently leading the KCTALK Fantasy NASCAR league by 150 points, "Who's the nerd now, bitch!" ....still him. Christina Cook brought us Grimstone tonight as our musical guest. They're semi-new to the scene and like most bands have been through several 'phases'. They have a Club Wars coming up on May 6th @ Knuckleheads that they're gearing up for. We had a lovely conversation about the 'business' of contests like 'Club Wars'. and the positive/negative aspects of them concerning local bands. We also talked about 'scroggin' and vasectomy's...geez this show can go anywhere at any time. http:///www.myspace.com/grimstonerock Scroggin': (via the Urban Dictionary) To participate in some level of sexual activity while in a parked car. Typically in a deserted area at night. Frank is all hot 'n bothered about the new GTA: IV which segwayed smoothly into the hot-topic of Pell Grants for Illegal Immigrants.
MtBG brought us news from the NFL Draft, the Chiefs cleaned up but did they make all the right moves? Time will tell.
Why is the Big Dumb Fun Show so fun to listen to? You don't spend any money in gas to listen to us? MtBG brought us the 'breaking news' that gas might hit $7/gallon. This was totally discounted by Venkman, but Boing Boing reports that it may be very possible.. http://www.boingboing.net/2008/04/28/gasoline-to-cost-10.html |

We've Been FRANK'D!

Frank's ASSHAT-ED-NESS kept us from broadcasting our live show tonight, but the show must go on.
Check out our newest podcast to hear all the details about how Frank can go suck a big one.
Plus,
- A first person account of the earthquake by Art Dundermyer from Earl, Indiana
- Frank loses a big client because Venk and Aaron put this image on his desktop...and they didn't like it. NSFW
- Trash talkin' Frank
- So what if the Pope codemns kid touching, what's he going to do about it?
- More Frank trash talkin'
- Gnirk plays 'Lost N Found' with Sam Loeffler, drummer for Chevelle and his girlfriend.
- Frank's "Wheel Of Excuses"
- Open mics and misc technical difficulties
- Venkman takes a grumpy on Frank's desk.
All that and so much LESS! It's a show to remember....but worth forgetting.

 2008 National Champions!
And the BDFS had COMPLETE coverage!
It was live from Lawrence, KS as Frank and Mark the Big Guy headed out to Granada on Mass St. to witness the fury of the KU Jayhawks and to give us our live double team coverage from the action.
Interviews from the street, inside the Granada, and even Frank trying to run over Sidewise's "Neko" before the festivities even began. It was fun for all, Frank got drunk, Mark got ass ended in more than one way.
Venkman and Gnirk remained safe in studio at the KC Icehouse Building back in Kansas City. No matter what they tried, it just could not top the excitement that took over the evening. Gnirk even broke out bits from his stand-up comedy routine that he reserves for the road, and believe it or not, he was actually funny!
Venkman tried to call his sister for "Siblings Day" and got nothing. She told him off for not visiting her after her rehab stint, and even worse, not even calling her for the past two birthdays. This is no surprise because Venk's pet name from his good 'ol wife is just "ass". Apperantly it is not just the studio he has issues with that some bean-o would not help with.
In the end, another show down, and another one coming up next Monday night. More audio from the streets of Lawrence, and look for the pictures on the BDFS Myspace now! |

Aaron Gnirk joined us via a payphone on Main Street in downtown KCMO for the first segment of the show, he was busy making copies of our brand new demo cd that we'll soon be passing out to some very unlucky radio stations and a couple of unsuspecting listeners. Stay tuned for more information on how to obtain one of these things..but more importantly, who uses a Payphone nowadays?
If Venkman spends any more time with Gnirk after the show it'll cost him his marriage, which means we say goodbye to half of his sweater vest collection. Sometimes it takes some time for BDFS post-production...but she suspects there's some funny business going on. Did we mention he came home half-drunk with a no pants and some warts that itched like the dickens.. Gnirk, you have some 'splaining to do!
Its no secret, we're pretty tight with the boys from 'Pull', it's also no secret that their lead singer, Pat Spurgeon, was at odds with his former band mate Wes Scantlin when he was in Puddle of Mudd. So Venkman was suprised to hear the number 2 song in the nation 'Psycho' from Puddle of Mudd and its eerity similar tune to Pull's 'Hey You'..which was written by Pat Spurgeon over 3 years ago. Tune into the podcast to hear the comparison...maybe there's a 2nd lawsuit brewing? Breaking News: Pull has added rhythm guitarist, Mark Jacobs to the band.
Is KQRC 98.9 'The Rock' taking notes from the Big Dumb Fun Show? Our phones blew up when the station's morning show suddenly received a big, ugly, white couch. Pretty much the same thing that happened to the BDFS a week prior. Should we be flattered? Lets just say that our lawyer is on the case, after he comes back from his trip to Mexico. We haven't seen him since our last lawsuit against Wolfman Jack's ghost. It's not over Wolfman....it's not over....
Mark the Big Guy whipped out his big NCAA brackets tonight. Him and Frank fawned over them for what seemed like 6 days. Mark ended the segment by congratulating Venkman on a job well done by locally 'stirring the pot' with a local car dealer on KCTalk.com. You can read the thread on the message board for more details...but we're not expecting Chad Franklin to sign up as a sponsor of the show anytime soon.
Seventh Day joined us tonight as our musical guest. They're gearing up for their big CD release party on April 4 at Club Korruption in the West Bottoms in Kansas City. We've been given a limited amount of some sweet tickets. They'll be performing (of course) but will also be in good company with Stand Under Nothing, Crash The Car, and the Heavy Frequency Award-winners, Caesura. Wanna stop by and party with the Big Dumb Fun Show? Shoot us a request (and attach some dirty pictures) to info@bigdumbfunshow.com and we'll see what we can do. Visit Seventh Day's Myspace @ http://www.myspace.com/seventhdayrock
Christina Cook has made it public record that she is just looking for a one night stand. None of this damn 'relationship' stuff. Frank is prepping a special 'Three Song Break' for the next time she stops by.
The Toilet Story: It's been filling up the Useless News box so we decided to give it its own segment. Did you hear about the story of the lady who sat on the toilet for two years. Someone light a match!

Tyler Lyon from The Leo Project joined us in-studio as our musical guest... he treated us to a couple acoustic treats that will be available for download shortly in our audio vault. Tyler's coming off the heals of the 5 Annual Heavy Frequency Awards where he took away the trophy for 'Best Vocalist' along with 'Best Rock Band'.
Frank showed more of his ignorance tonight by admitting that he didn't know what a 976 number was.
Our thoughts go out tonight to one of our affiliates promotions director, Rhonda Williams and her daughter Alex. Alex was hit by a car while waiting for the school bus. She's in the hospital and we'll report on her condition as soon as we know more. Rhonda works for our New York affiliate, Aero97one in Camillus, NY.
Frank is a super-nerd. Not only does he play WoW at all hours of the day, he goes to the gym in jeans. "If you're a fat man, you should have a pair of sweats" Tyler Lyon "Or anything with an expandable waist line really..." Venkman "The problem was all of his said 'Juicy' on the back " Aaron Gnirk Frank was 'Christened' in the locker room by one of the random naked locker room dudes that insist on just strolling around the locker room. The trip ended with Venkman having a black eye and the two heading straight to the I-Hop to see the 2:30am 'Freak Show'.
Of all the pictures taken tonight, who's getting the MySpace album cover? You guess it, Lindsay, the girl Tyler brought with him. It always funny how the girlfriend of the band members react to the Big Dumb Fun Show. It's like a cross between 'amazement' and 'disgust'. She's from Rock Falls, Illinois where they've never heard of Chuck Norris. Maybe Chuck wanted it that way.
Scott Fuller from eStream Radio joined us by phone to talk shop a bit about the state of radio today. He's worked he fair share of gigs in radio and is now trying to do his own thing. He's got a unique idea, "People all have 6 different buttons on their radio dial, and if you program it the right way you can fulfill all their needs." Get the eStream experience @ www.estreamradio.com and check out the Scott Fuller Show. It's about politics, but what isn't? Listen for Scott's interview in the Audio Vault.
It's always a pleasure to have Tyler Lyon in studio. He doesn't cuss, smells nice, and brings hot chicks. He gave us a couple of great acoustics and talked about what was new with the TLP. Their last album 'The Burning' has been selling like hotcakes regionally at the Best Buy's. You can tell by talking to him that the band is going to the next level, but with that comes concessions that have to be made. The album that was supposed to drop in December hasn't dropped yet, and some artistic control that he had in the past he no longer has. Tyler has been forbidden from 'screaming' or 'growling' which has brought some criticism from some local rockers that claim he's not 'metal' enough. Visit TLP online @ MySpace.com/TheLeoProject and buy 'The Burning' in Best Buy's everywhere and online through CD Baby.
Amanda Brooks joined us by phone to give us her take on the whole Gov. Spitzer deal. Amanda's been blogging about it ever since the news broke. Visit her online @ EscortMBA.com. Look for her interview in the Audio Vault.
Mark the Big Guy has his own MySpace Account! Send him all your sports news and thoughts (hopefully some of it will soak in). Http://www.MySpace.com/MarkTheBigGuy
